Key performance areas
We are looking for someone who is ready to join a team of other engineers/technicians within quality and manufacturing and get to work immediately qualifying new equipment and processes and optimizing manufacturing flows and parameters to ensure ongoing compliance with all material property requirements. In this position, you will play a central role in providing technical support to the materials laboratory, manufacturing and sales teams. You will routinely interact with key suppliers, customers, inside/outside sales representatives, quality, materials laboratory, and production staff. We need someone who thinks in practical terms and can quickly come up with doable solutions. You will drive continual improvements within all facility activities, assess risks and identify improvement opportunities, and devise and implement corrective and preventive action processes. You will be working on new systems and equipment to ensure operational excellence.
Other key responsibilities include:
o Reviewing and interpreting materials testing results.
o Developing procurement specifications and working with current and new suppliers on materials-related issues.
o Creating and implementing accurate inspection and test plans to ensure compliance with order requirements.
o Ensuring incoming material compliance and that customer requirements are incorporated into shop travelers and supporting documents.
o Qualifying new equipment and processes to ensure that they produce tubular products that meet industry and customer specifications.
This position will report directly to the Director – Quality & Metallurgy.

Your profile
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy or materials science, one to three years’ experience in the metals processing or metals industries is desired, but other equivalent experience or less experience is acceptable. We need someone who is self-directed and can work independently with minimal supervision after initial training.
You balance multiple priorities with ease while always delivering excellent results.  You react well to change and are flexible and comfortable working in an ever-changing environment with a variety of contacts.  You are a team player and your excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and cultural awareness skills enable you to perform well in a multi-cultural team environment.  You remain diplomatic and calm in the face of challenges, and work well under pressure.
