KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
For Sandvik’s SMT production operations, the Production Planner will be responsible for issuing and managing shop orders for the production unit, maximizing material yield, machine efficiency and productivity. Additionally, you will work with Production Manager to ensure optimum productivity and on time completion of orders based upon customer expectations.
Additional responsibilities include:
o Scheduling “manufacturing orders” to production floor based upon customer requirements.
o Develop weekly manufacturing plan to meet target load objectives and satisfy organization inventory goals.
o Coordinating consignment needs and ensuring a smooth material flow.
o Provide lead-time information to the sales unit for customer inquiries.
o Develop and revises Bills of Material and production routing information based on specific knowledge and capability of shop floor,
o Participate in unit’s Continuous Improvement and Quality Improvement activities.
Candidates should possess an Associate’s degree in a technical field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with production materials, forecasting and inventory and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a production planning role. You should have proficiency with MRP / ERP tools. Applicants should have advanced experience with MS Office Suite including MS Excel.
Additionally, you will possess:
o Excellent verbal and written communication skills
o Knowledge of continuous improvement/LEAN methods is desired
o A strong team orientation combined with positive and influential leadership skills
o APICS certification a plus
