Key performance areas
We are looking for someone who is ready to join a team of other engineers/technicians within the Quality Department as well as within manufacturing and sales and get to work immediately building an effective and efficient quality management system. In the Quality Engineer position, you will play a central role in the manufacturing or sales unit for tube products. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a quality management system as you routinely interact with key suppliers, customers, inside/outside sales representatives and warehouse staff. We need someone who thinks in practical terms and can quickly come up with doable solutions. You will drive continual improvements within all facility activities, assess risks and identify improvement opportunities, and devise and implement corrective and preventive action processes. You will be working on new systems and equipment to ensure operational excellence. In addition to quality management duties, you will lead training for new equipment on the manufacturing floor as well as training staff in quality systems, inspection techniques and methods, and customer requirements.
Other key responsibilities include:
o Conducting regular internal process and system audits
o Developing procurement specifications and working with current and new suppliers on quality-related issues
o Creating and implementing accurate inspection and test plans to ensure compliance with order requirements
o Ensuring incoming material compliance and that customer requirements are incorporated into shop travelers and supporting documents
o Qualify new equipment and processes to meet industry and customer specifications
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in a related field, three years’ experience in the metals processing or metals industries is desired; but other equivalent experience or less experience is acceptable. It is important that you have worked with quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or equivalent, ASME NCA 3800 or ASME NQA-1, and have conducted audits within these systems. We need someone who is self-directed and can work independently with minimal supervision after initial training.

You are a team player and your excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and cultural awareness skills enable you to perform well in a multi-cultural team environment. You remain diplomatic and calm in the face of challenges, and work well under pressure.
