Behavior Support Professional (BSP} Job Description :
The primary function of this position is to be responsible for providing one-on-one supports to assigned individuals receiving services in a community home. Part time positions available, which includes work every other weekend and every other holiday. Driver’s license required.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Demonstrates knowledge of and implements the assigned individual’s individual support plan (ISP).• Provides programming developed by the Behavioral Specialist.• Completes all medical appointments as scheduled, assures required documentation is accurate and complete.• Implements activities and strategies identified in the individual’s behavior support plan.• Completes all documentation and paperwork as required ( client and household).• Participates in the individual’s annual ISP meeting and other meetings as required.• Responsible for the transportation needs of the assigned individual, including knowledge of vehicle policies, van logs, and adheres to transportation schedules.• Provides community based activities for assigned Individual, according to his/her community life plan.• Must attend twenty-four (24) hours of in-service training per year, inclusive of the fire safety training.• Complies with all requirements for administering medications.• Complies with all requirements for documenting on medication log.• Complies with all tasks associated with the position and adheres to the limcframc.• Maintains a cooperative relationship with co-workers and supervisors, and creates an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust within the home and the department.• Performs other related tasks as assigned and remains flexible to the diverse needs of the facility.
• High School Diploma or GED• Two years’ experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities or adult autism.• Valid PA Driver’s License
